Typically

Typically, if you have more than one traffic violation within a few years, it's a good idea to enroll in traffic school. However, you will still have to pay the fine if you choose not to take the course.

States

In some states, you can choose to participate in a state wide ticket dismissal program. While these programs vary by state, most states have at least one.

To find

To find out if you are eligible for the state or county program, you can ask your clerk or look online.

Court

Each court will have a website that has information on the ticket you received and whether or not you qualify for traffic school.

Decide

You'll also need to decide if you want to attend a traditional traffic school, an online course, or take a defensive driving course.

Website

The website may also allow you to pay your fines and request an extension. If you opt for the latter, you'll need to pay an extra fee for the course.

Driver

There are four types of driver improvement courses you can choose from. The first is the Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDI), which is required for non-criminal minor traffic tickets. In addition, this class also allows you to obtain an insurance discount.  Get more detail about kjøreskole kristiansand.

The next option is the Court Ordered Driver Improvement Class (DDS), which can be taken after certain violations. Upon completion of the DDS, you will receive a certificate. However, you must attend and complete the four-hour class within sixty days.

Advanced Driver

Finally, there is the Advanced Driver Improvement (ADI) course, which is required for drivers who have had their license suspended. After completing the class, you must deliver your certificate to the Clerk’s office. Failure to do so can result in additional fees and penalties.  Drivers who have been ticketed for a red light violation are not eligible to enroll in the ADI. Those who have received two six-point citations in a twelve-month period are not eligible to take the ADI course.

Received

If you have received a traffic ticket in Florida, you may be able to enroll in and complete a driving safety course. This will reduce your fine and points on your license and help you avoid a suspension.
